Beginning July 25, 2020, following the Governor's Executive Order, face masks are required at North Heights to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. MORE

Students

Middle School (grades 6–8) & High School (grades 9–12)

North Heights Student Ministry partners with families in their God-given role of training and instructing their students in the Lord. We see our role as preparing students to build a lasting faith through knowledge, relationships and experience. We desire to help students find their true identity and acceptance in Jesus Christ where we believe they will find their greatest joy.

Parent release  COVID Waiver

North Heights Student Ministry will be meeting in person this fall and winter! Students can come ready to CONNECT in a safe, socially distanced, masked community. Small groups will be our focus, so we can encourage students in their faith and be wise at the same time. Registration for most activities will not be required unless noted in the event description.

REFUEL WEDNESDAY NIGHTS

Middle School (grades 6–8) and High School (grades 9–12)
Wednesdays, 6:30-8pm (meal 5:15-6:30pm), Arden Hills

FUN. FRIENDS. FOOD. Through our Refuel Wednesday Nights we desire to equip students to live for Christ, experience the Holy Spirit in their lives, and be prepared to share Christ with others. We see authentic community in our small groups, engaging worship and crazy, fun activities for students to participate in and fun theme nights throughout the year.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

Student Ministry loves seeing our students serving on Sunday mornings. When students serve, they not only bless our church community with their gifts and talents, they also experience how God uses them to do His work. Students can serve as ushers, help the tech team, work in the nursery and Kids Sunday School. We encourage students to attend worship with their families if they are not serving. We welcome 6th grade students to join in Kids Sunday School.

EQUIP

Sundays, 10am-10:20am, Arden Hills, Youth Room
For students who serve, grades 6–12

Leaders are learners! EQUIP is a time to connect with each other and discover what's working and what's not. Join us for breakfast, encouragement and prayer before Kids Sunday School. All students are welcome to stop by, say hello, grab a treat and be encouraged.

FOUNDATIONS CONFIRMATION PROGRAM

Sundays, 9-10am, Arden Hills, Room 115
For students grades 7-9
Foundations is a three-year educational experience focusing on the foundations of faith. Through Foundations, our prayer is that students will experience God in an incredible way: that they know He is real for them and living the Christian life is the most exciting, powerful, extreme and incredible life to live. Foundations program is made up of three parts; a class room component, serving opportunities as well as involvement in Student Ministry activities. Sign up by contacting Student Ministries.

FIRST FRIDAYS

Look for the return of First Fridays in 2021.

STUDENT MINISTRY PHASED REGATHERING PLANS

North Heights Leadership and the Council of Elders have been working on a multi-phase regathering plan within the CDC and government guidelines. All phases will offer Livestream worship at 9am, 10am and 10:45am and on the Facebook.com/NorthHeightsLutheranChurch page.

SMALL GROUPS

North Heights rolled out phase one of our regathering plan with pre-arranged in-person groups of 10 or less meeting at the Arden Hills campus. This means that your student may be invited to participate in an in-person small group.

The safety of our students and guests is important to us. We have created a few safeguards that our leaders, staff, and volunteers will strive to uphold. However, knowing that hugs, fist bumps and high fives can be a temptation for many students, who haven’t seen their friends in some time, it is the parent’s or guardian’s discretion whether or not to send their students to public events during this time.

STUDENT MINISTRY COVID-19 SAFEGUARDS

North Heights staff, leaders and volunteers strive to follow these safeguards:

  • Room capacity guidelines will be followed per state requirements.
  • Everyone in the classroom space will wear masks (Students and volunteers/staff). Masks will be available for students if they are forgotten.
  • Any student or adult who exhibits any cold/flu like symptoms will not be allowed to participate any event.
  • Anyone who tests positive for COVID19, will not be allowed at activities for a minimum of 2 weeks post being asymptomatic.
  • Students will be encouraged to wash their hands as they enter the Youth Room and before they go home. Hand sanitizer will also be available at gatherings and students will be reminded to use often.
  • All activities, games, and small groups will be socially distanced and we will encourage as little contact as possible.
  • All snacks and drinks that are served, will be individually packaged.
